Crystal L. Edwards


After earning her B.S. in Political Science with a minor in African American Studies from the University of Houston, Dr. Crystal Edwards attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee where she earned her Ph.D. in Africology with a concentration in Urban Education. She is currently a Visiting Scholar in the African American Studies Program at the University of Houston. Her research and teaching interests include: Intersectional identities, lived experiences of Black women and girls, Black girls in educational settings, Microaggressions, Black Feminist Theory and Africana frameworks.
